Model: Priyanka Kalyana

 Hi Friends,

Through Instagram found a few models for enhancing my fine art photography work. There was an image on Instagram of Miss Priyanka where she was painted black and wore some gold ornament/s. I casually asked her that it must have taken a very long time to remove it. I remember going to photograph Holi in Braj area and I was totally multi coloured on return to the hotel in Vrindavan. My silver on my head was fully covered with multi colours. It took about a few months for the colour to fade off my hairs.

This small chit chat broke ice between us. I asked if she would agree to pose for me. Getting a positive response we did our first shoot. This shoot was kind of dry spell that ended for me. I am little cautious connecting with models online whom similar platforms. There are so many with fake identities. Many guys are masquerading as females by posting images of models or females. Some are very professional as they have stocked images of one person and keep sharing.  So avoid instant invite to shoot. I usually like to meet in person in some public place like some coffee shop to check out the genuineness of the person before agreeing for a shoot straight. I have a long time make up artist Sheetal whom I requested her to join the shoot since Priyanka for whatever reasons did not want to meet before the shoot. Anyways it was wonderful to work with Priyanka. We did another shoot later when the scare of Corona got diluted.

I used to take out my camera to charge the batteries due to over one half years of lockdown and very strict controls by the government. Besides to keep safe lots of movements I had personally curtailed lest ending up with Corona. I was rusty as during this lockdown period. I had not even used used the camera shoot randomly. One of my students had requested to shoot his collection of children's wear that was also quite many months back. My new set of my studio was used by me for very first time. Since it was a personal shoot there was no problem testing the abundance of available light. So I decided to check the lighting in various spots of my studio. I did not use any strobes or portable flash even to supplement light streaming through the large windows on both lengths of the studio. I also tested the large self fabricated reflectors. Results were decent but could have been better maybe due to the long lay off from photography.

By the way Priyanka aka sensuous.brown.girl is a very popular Instagram model and it was lovely to have worked with her and also looking forward to shooting more creatives with her.

Model Preeti - Vidhya

 Hi Friends,

Pandemic has really disturbed a lot of lives, businesses and professions world over and we all know since how long we all have been suffering. So far commercial work has at least not reached my door steps. My studio got ready during the Pandemic so not been able to get photographers or agencies taking on hire.

Online activities increased during these times as physical meetings across with people was nearly zero. The second wave of Corona was severe and almost all got jittery even meeting people they were meeting before this second wave. Somehow we have again become a bit outgoing as big numbers of people have got their first dose of vaccination and like people in my age group got their second dose of vaccination.

One of the models whom I got contacted shared her fear of shooting during peak of second wave of Corona. Once after many got their vaccination, she contacted letting me know that she has started shooting and was available for shoots. I will be posting a blog later with #brown.sensuous.girl, the shoot we did together.  We did two shoots and hope to do more with her.

From Instagram got connected with Preeti - Vidhya (#browngirlsoul) and we have done two shoots together in the past month or so. 

After Adobe declared end of life of CS6 Suite I have started using Affinity Photo though I bought it many years back but as a habit used PS since it was being used since decades. Now there was no option left but to use Affinity Photo along with Luminar and today these are my main softwares. There is 'darktable' an open source software equivalent as said to Adobe Lightroom. Still got to understand its working,

I am very much satisfied and happy using both Affinity Photo and Luminar 2018 & Luminar 4. Comparing with PS CS6 AfPhoto offers a lot. The images post here have been edited with AfPhoto from RAW conversion to final output. I use NIK Collection Plugins as well.

Found some models

 Hi Friends,

Often I forget getting online in Blogspot to post regularly something new. Perhaps I have never been a diary writer who develop over the time jotting in each night before retiring for the day their days work or sharing their interesting moments.

My last post I wanted some female muse/s to enhance my fine art nude/semi nude/implied nude photography portfolio. I had joined Instagram quite many years back but never used it perhaps it is mobile phone app so did not have much on phone to share as I hardly used mobile camera. Today I have learnt to connect and upload images using my laptop, makes life more simpler with regards to using Instagram.

I got connected to few models from Instagram who share a passion for posing for fine art nudes. They have no hangs ups about not including the face. They have been wonderful in creating some very good images. They have been wonderful to work with. Looking forward to getting connected with some more with similar attitude and passion towards fine art photography. BTW I do not shoot any porn kind of stuff as I find no taste for such explicit images. I like more decent shoots even a model is fully nude.

I am always on the look out for more female muses who are legally adult and who share the same passion for decent fine art nude/semi-nude/implied nude photography collaboration. They can be models, housewives or singles. In lieu of the shoot I can make a portfolio if someone is looking for a modelling career. Those not interested in modelling career I can shoot portraits for wall display.

For future good relations I do require a hand written consent that they are involving in the shoot willing and without any misleading promises, that I shall at no time, at behest of anybody issue threats or initiate any legal actions at any time in the future. Require proper government issued identity card like Aadhaar Card or Driving Licence and affix a passport size photograph.

Tasteful Photography of Fine Art Nudes & Human Body Form

The human form has been done over and over many times as art and there is a good reason why. We have our famous Khajuraho Temples one of the most medieval monuments of India.

WANT TO BE MY MUSE as a model on my personal projects?? Muse: One of the nine ancient Greek goddesses who each represented a particular art or science. Muse is a goddess that inspires a creative artist. The source of an artist's inspiration. A guiding spirit.

Fine art painters need a live figure to paint on their canvases. There comes a time when a photographer needs before his camera for further explorations, development and advancing his photographic sighting projects with a long term Muse, who has an understanding and passion for creativity. I am in search of such attractive female/s between 20 -30 (to 35) years with a good figure for collaboration on mutual talent exchange basis for artistic nude/semi nude figure modelling. A reasonably bold minded female / female model would be a better preference. The best would of course be ballet dancer or dancer as they know how to stretch and hold the body for creative posing. 

Officially under age females should avoid approaching for such mutual collaboration.

On such collaborations shoots identifying marking, faces are not used to keep anonymity of the poser.

PRIVATE COMMISSIONED PHOTOSHOOT - Consider an artwork of yourself whether it be a gift for a loved one or for future reflection. You can choose to have your own ideas incorporated, in a studio or at a location. The whole experience will take place in an environment that is artistic, tasteful, safe and confidential. It is all about the light Enhancing the wonderful curves of the female body.

A shoutout to photography enthusiasts who want to enhance their photography skills to join weekend workshops to understand capabilities of your camera, the art of seeing, framing and lighting both ambient and artificial lights and the various modifiers to control light to get your planned results.

There will be series of workshops on specific subjects like portraitures, products, fashion, fine art figure photography and special sessions understanding working of makeup and hairstylists for execution of portraitures and fashion shoots.

A little about me. 

* Four decades of national and international experience. 

*Seven years work experience in Germany in studio and darkroom practices both colour and BW. 

* Worked on 8x10" to 35 mm film format cameras including processing and printing. 

* Single colour Offset printing from scratch to finish output. 

* Worked with multiple film emulsions used in both BW and colour films and photographic printing papers.

* Visiting guest faculty at National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi

* Jury to various photography competitions of educational institutes

* Workshops at IIT, Kanpur; IP College, Civil Lines, Delhi

* Freelance photographer on call with Cellesche Zeitung, Celle, Germany

One has to bring own camera for attending the workshop. Better carry camera manual as I am not versed with different camera brands and models.

A 1 2 1 interaction with Mary Doggett, Norwich, U.K. photographer

Hi friends,

Pandemic did keep us locked up for good one year and still some more time before we feel safe and return to our normal life as before Pandemic. The after Pandemic life will surely be different, not any carefree life as before as there always be a lurking fear some or the other strain popping up.

This restricted life within confines of our homes has in many ways been a boon as we got introduced to newer things to keep us busy in improving our professions with new insights. We did hear about online virtual meetings and we had very vague idea/knowledge about the same. We learnt interacting on various online virtual meeting apps. Students initially had kind of holidays but then their online classes started. Parents had to buy laptops so the children could attend online classes. My elder grand children in class 6 were having online classes, well understood about it. My two younger grandchildren of two and half years got admitted to play school and they too have had two sessions of online activity.

Our BNI meetings have been going on Zoom.us apps and even trainings. This introduced me to online virtual meetings. I am from Noida Region, Chapter Hercules and we have meetings every Thursdays.

Ms. Mary Doggett connected with me by Email for an online virtual meeting. We did have one a couple of weeks back. For both of us it was first ever international 1 2 1 virtual meeting. It was really wonderful. We decided to keep our interactions going on and not leave it as just one time thing. During the meeting I showed my Dilli 6 - Khari Baoli book and later shared a digital copy. Today got an Email invite to have another meeting. This time she wanted to interview me about how started photography and my journey into photography. She will writing a blog and sharing on different SM platforms.

Virtual Virtual Virtual...

Recently saw photographers and models doing virtual photo shoots being posted a lot in Instagram. Now what was virtual shooting? I had no idea all. Many of the shoots were great. Fist saw the virtual shoots posted on Instagram. Later googled to know more about it. Both photographers and models really got bored and started this kind of shooting. Today with mobile phone cameras and even laptop cameras are have great clarity and resolution. Both interact with each other with model showing possible locations in her/his apartment or house as may be the case including possible dresses, accessories and share various possible images of shoots as references. They on a decided day and time log on to various online meeting apps. The model uses phone or laptop or computer web camera and poses while the photographer takes a screen shot or uses a camera to shoot the screen. These are edited by the photographer and shared with the poser and post on SM platform of their choice. Well when restrictions are there people do find ways to by pass those restrictions.

I have not tried but very keen to try out with some model or a poser with like minded interest. Though results are not as sharp with good resolution that we get from a camera but it is interesting in its own ways.

Yes we lost on our earnings very severely but we learned very many new things. We all had lots of time to indulge in our passions. It gave me time to design my Coffee Table Books, started slowly to update my website, tried learning new softwares. With Adobe CS 6 Photoshop taken off, trying to practice with some editing softwares that I had bought but rarely used since decades Photoshop was being used and as a routine I used to just open CS 6 to edit images. On searching more alternatives to Adobe products I came across 'darktable app'. Reviews say it is equivalent to Adobe Lightroom or in some ways better. It is a free software and I installed three to four days back. 

I am looking for some bold female models with whom a virtual shoot can be done. Virtual shoots have no borders, no distances to worry about any model from any part of the world can partner in the shoot. Do contact me from here.
