Indomie Instant Noodles

This shoot of Indomie Noodles was quite a challenge we me and my food stylist had create shapes for banners and normal display of instant noodles for packaging. Firstly the gentleman (Indian) who came from Nigeria brought one or two packets of instant noodles of his company. After assigning the project after briefing he got busy taking time off to catch with family and friends. He asked us to use Maggie noodles. Perhaps we also erred on using the accompanied taster (if I quite remember) and it has Turmeric while people do not use Turmeric in Nigeria. I tried to a few shots for his approval as he wanted but his response was far too late. I had charged the shoot for four days and hired food stylist for the same. The food stylist was really cool and did not say anything when we went the agreed days.

The Nigerians are crazy about their game of football and they wanted that we create a football shape in the plate. They had some shoot executed by some photographer as he shared images but the shape of football was a far cry from the real shape. Lucky she was going through some sessions of art & sketching. We bought a plate that was sprayed black. She drew the hexagons and pentagons. Since instant noodles have quite a lot of liquid, so this liquid was supposed to be stopped flowing into the center of the plate. Well I was aware of the trick to stop it flowing over by using transparent glue kind of stuff to create a dyke. We carefully filled the cooked Instant Noodles into the areas. Since it was to be finally cut out and placed on some background by their agency, we kept the background plain and simple.

Creating shapes was quite demanding but it being creative it was fun to make. As already mentioned we kept background simple and plain as these were required to be cut out for final art work
